The Joori cardigan is a loose-fitting cardigan with a knitted neckline trim. The body is knitted seamlessly in garter stitch using the RVO (raglan from the top) method, which requires only a few basic techniques – ideal for ambitious beginners. You start by casting on stitches for the sleeves and back. A few shortened rows add length to the back so that the hem sits straight later on.
Once the raglan lines are finished, the sleeve stitches are put on hold while the front and back are joined and continued in rows. Since the cardigan is knitted from top to bottom, the length can be adjusted as desired until a final Joori cuff completes the garment. The sleeves are knitted in rows and sewn together at the end. Finally, stitches are picked up at the neckline edge to knit the facing in the cuff pattern.
